U4gm Arc Raiders Firefly Burner Throwing Angles

The 2.3.0 update has turned the Firefly Burner into a more deliberate combat tool rather than a simple explosive. For players refining their loadouts, ARC Raiders BluePrints can help provide a broader view of available equipment while the Burner itself rewards careful timing and positioning.

When thrown, the device now activates on impact, continues moving while laying down a temporary line of fire, and detonates after roughly three seconds. Each stage creates a different opportunity, so throwing it directly at an opponent is not always the strongest choice.

Understanding the Three-Part Attack

The first effect happens the moment the Burner strikes a surface or target. This impact can interrupt movement, force an enemy to react, and begin the fire trail immediately. Aiming at the ground just ahead of a moving opponent is often more reliable than aiming for the body, especially when the target is changing direction.

The trail is the main control element. It remains active long enough to discourage an opponent from crossing a doorway, turning a corner, or following the same route. The delayed explosion comes later, so players should avoid rushing forward immediately after the throw. Use the first moments to reposition while the enemy is deciding whether to push through the flames or wait for the detonation.

Choosing Angles and Choke Points

Narrow entrances make the Firefly Burner especially effective. Throwing it against the floor near a doorway can create a line that cuts across the opening, while a throw toward the wall can send the device along a path that covers the approach. Angled throws are useful because they can extend the fire trail beyond the point where the Burner first lands.

Inside compact rooms, avoid placing the device too far behind the opponent. A better target is the space between the enemy and their safest exit. This turns the fire into a temporary barrier and gives the delayed explosion time to threaten anyone who remains in the room. In a stairwell, landing, or narrow corridor, one well-placed throw can make several routes uncomfortable without being wasted in an open area.

Shaping Enemy Movement

The Burner works best when an enemy already has a reason to move. If an opponent is advancing through a hallway, throw it slightly ahead of their expected position rather than at their current location. The impact may slow them, the trail can push them toward a less favorable lane, and the explosion may punish a rushed decision.

It can also pressure a confined position without requiring a direct entry. Toss the device near cover, then hold the angle that watches the remaining exit. The opponent must either cross the fire, expose themselves while waiting, or move into your prepared sightline. This is particularly useful when teammates are closing from another direction.

Timing the Follow-Up

Do not treat the detonation as the only reason to throw the Burner. Its strongest value often comes from the sequence: immediate impact, temporary route denial, then delayed explosion. Count the delay mentally and plan your next action around it, such as reloading, changing cover, or preparing a close-range push.

Once the trail fades, expect the enemy to move quickly. Keep your crosshair on the most likely escape route instead of staring at the blast point. With practice, the Firefly Burner becomes a tool for controlling decisions, not merely dealing damage.

Used with measured angles and a clear follow-up plan, the updated Firefly Burner can reshape an encounter before the explosion occurs. Players expanding their equipment options may also find ARC Raiders BluePrints for sale useful when preparing a loadout built around pressure, movement control, and reliable follow-up attacks.
